One of my favorite daily reads, The Fashionista Next Door, does a weekly series named “Style Me Friday“. In this series, Eboni chooses a fashion inspiration and shares the love with her readers by posting her take on the chosen inspiration topic and also the readers’ pictures of how they chose to wear the inspiration.
A good number of the blogs I read have a series similar to this and I think it’s a fun way to interact with readers and would like to participate in more of these as much as possible, schedule permitting of course, hehe. This week’s style inspiration is the Pencil Skirt. This past weekend I was so excited by the warming weather that I decided to rock this newly-acquired pencil skirt via wall-meezy (my nickname for Walmart).
The most exciting detail about this skirt, other than the beautiful bright color (this image does this skirt NO justice), are the teeny pockets at the top of the skirt. The seaming is so clean that it’s not even noticeable in the images but I love pockets on skirts and dresses, they make me squeal with excitement. I paired the skirt with a neon green lace top and had just co-washed my mane so I repped #Turban-life with a scarf borrowed from my mommy. I get it from my momma, ha!
