On Friday, March 29, I had the pleasure of attending an amazing fashion show featuring Boston-based fashion designer, Zonya Williams. She debuted her line, Zadon Fashion, during the 2nd Annual Infatuation Fashion show. Danger: Picture-heavy post.
Zadon Fashion celebrates a woman’s curves with body-hugging dresses and flattering silhouettes. The cut-out detailing in the dresses were bold yet sophisticated. Animal print is seen in subtle textures, and guess what, she also deigns for the plus size woman! I love the way she plays with bright colors and the mixing of fabrics which brings a vibrant energy with edge. And the prints, yes! The green one-shoulder top below would be a wonderful work-to-happy hour transition piece. During the work day, just layer a blazer over the top with some nice staight-leg pants and at night take off that blazer, throw a skirt on and some heels and you’re good to go. Don’t forget to accessorize. A must-have in my closet is the black and white printed one-shoulder dress with the leather detailing, lovely.
Zonya also owns an online boutique, ZadonFashion.com, where she sells her beautiful creations for very affordable prices. These are a few of my favorites.
- White Black Printed Design Peplum Dress – $36
- Classy Pink and Gold – $15
- Gold Multi Metallic One Long Sleeve Sexy Dress – $35
- Celebrity Inspired – $18
- Cute yellow and Gold – $10
The 2nd Annual Infatuation Fashion show, hosted a medley of diverse designers who showcased their work in support of a very worthy cause. The show’s creator and coordinator had recently lost her close aunt to Uterine Cancer and a portion of the proceeds from the event were donated to the cause. The event was hosted at The Lantana in Randolph, MA, just minutes away from the city of Boston.
The event space was so beautiful, you know we had to take pictures. Here is what I wore. I decided to go full force with color and since I love mixing prints, I wanted to add another print in a different way. To accomplish this, I chose to wear my white Asos wedge sandals to balance the colorful body-hugging dress from Walmart (yes, don’t sleep on Wally-world). The stripe pattern created from the straps were my way of adding yet another “print”. For makeup I used dark blue shadows lining the bottom of my eyes with gold accents on the top lid and inside corners to highlight my brown eyes with a muted pink lip.
Many thanks to Zonya Williams and Zadon Fashion for allowing me to be a guest and experience this wonderful event alongside her. S/o to She Quin of Murqu Media, my ace, my right-hand girl, Shekora Saint-Dick, my afro Queen, and the lovely Auntie Michelle for sharing the night with me, I love you ladies.
